About
I am currently a research student in Queen Mary, University of London. My research involved understanding the Type II secretion system and some bacterial microcompartment. To do this, I need to produce and purify the proteins and subsequently, crystallized them to reveal the 3D structures.
Prior to this, I had my professional training year in Wales Heart Research Institute to study on a gigantic membrane receptor known as Ryanodine Receptor 2. Ryanodine receptor 2 is a cardiac specific membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the cell signalling pathway. As such it had been shown that mutation in this membrane can cause cardiac arrhythmias. I successfully crystallized a small N-terminal fragment of the protein. I also did an initial protein-protein interaction study.
On free time, I do watch a lot of TV series and movies. This blog will focus on my favorite shows and maybe some other random stuff.
